The Politicol News article I got the quote from was very opinionated and it is obvious that the author was heated.<br /><br />I think he/she was trying to say that stem cell research may as well have been outlawed due to the funding restrictions that were put in place. <br /><br />The quote is misleading though. Stem cell therapy was never &quot;outlawed&quot; in the US. The only restriction has been the use of embryonic SCs, which are still in very early clinical trials.<br /><br />Hematopoeitic SC transplants have been occurring routinely for blood-related diseases.<br /><br />The perception may be that SC research was &quot;outlawed&#39; in the US, but this is certainly not the case.fredcobiohttp://fredcobio.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
